RealTruck Supports our Heroes November 21, 2024

Our longtime sponsor RealTruck hosted Army Sergeant Joel Tavera and his father Jose, who is also a veteran, and the Building Homes for Heroes team at their Ocala, FL facility in celebration of our heroes.

Joel, who received his home from Building Homes for Heroes in Tampa, suffered third-degree burns to 60% of his body and is also blind, and has undergone more than 100 surgeries. At one point, Joel was considered the most injured veteran to return home from Iraq. But Joel has thrived in his new home under the supervision and care of his loving family. Recently, Joel returned to school to finish his education, earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa.

RealTruck has been an enthusiastic partner of Building Homes for Heroes for several years, providing numerous donations and partnering for holiday sales and other contributions.

At this year’s SEMA show, RealTruck brought out several striking builds, including a stylish and heavily modified JT Gladiator built alongside die-cast-legend Matchbox, with proceeds going directly to Building Homes for Heroes. At the auction, the Gladiator sold for $250K with an additional $75K in contributions on top for a total of $325,000!

The Building Homes for Heroes team extends its gratitude to RealTruck for their support!
