Purple Heart Hero Receives Home in Jacksonville April 28, 2025

Army Staff Sergeant Antwian Cooper was 19 years old when he made his first deployment to Iraq. He would deploy four times in total during his 11 years of service -- once more to Iraq and twice to Afghanistan. The Purple Heart recipient endured many severe physical and emotional injuries during that time, including an IED explosion that struck his vehicle and knocked him unconscious.

And now, Antwian, his wife Shalena and their children have a place they can comfortably and securely call home, thanks to Building Homes for Heroes and Pulte Homes. Hundreds welcomed home the Cooper family on April 23rd for a patriotic Welcome Home Celebration to show their appreciation for a wounded hero.
