Craig Hall

Craig Hall Army Sergeant

Specialist Hall, his fiancé Kala, and his two children, received a mortgage-free home in Connecticut.

Craig Hall's Story

Army Specialist Craig Hall joined the military out of Springfield, MA in 2005 because he felt the need to serve his country after the September 11th attacks. He served active duty for three years before being discharged in 2008.

While on routine patrol in April 2007, the tank Specialist Hall was riding in struck a pressure detonated IED (improvised explosive device), throwing him out of the tank and landing him on the top of the turret. After being in shock from the blast, he realized the injuries he sustained and instantly felt the pain in his leg and body. After being taken into a safe area, Specialist Hall received first aid and was evacuated shortly thereafter.

Specialist Hall suffered a left leg amputation and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), migraines, tinnitus and hearing loss.

Following his service in the military, Specialist Hall works as a Mobile Vet Center Outreach Specialist for the Springfield Vet Center, assisting those veterans who are in need. In addition, he is a competitive motorcyclist, as it has been a form of recreational therapy for him.

For his service to his country, Specialist Hall has been awarded the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge and Marksmanship Qual Badge-Expert with Rifle.
