A patriotic day at the rodeo culminated with a very special announcement – a mortgage-free home gift for Army Sergeant Michael Lawson, his wife and their three children!

Building Homes for Heroes was once again honored to be a beneficiary at the Hillwood Land & Cattle American Hero Celebration with Charly Crawford at the NRS Arena in Decatur, Texas. The five-day festive event, run by the Liberty and Loyalty Foundation, comprised live music, meet and greets, roping clinics and a ranch rodeo, culminating with a festive Heroes Gala fundraiser.

Sergeant Lawson, who will receive his home in New Mexico in 2025, served deployments in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and was tasked with route clearance missions involving many exposures to IED explosions and other severe dangers.

Thank you to Hillwood, the Liberty and Loyalty Foundation, and Charly Crawford for hosting us for a night at the rodeo, and for your wonderful support.
