Patrick Gambaro
Member, Board of Directors
Patrick Gambaro is formerly the Executive Vice President/ Chief Operations Officer of the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace. NYBOT is the world’s leading exchange for soft commodities (cocoa, coffee, cotton, ethanol, orange juice, wood pulp, and sugar) as well as currency and index futures, and options trading.
Mr. Gambaro joined the Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange (CSCE) as Senior Vice President of Information Technology and Floor Operations in 1989. After the CSCE merged with the New York Cotton Exchange in 1998 to form the New York Board of Trade, he was promoted to Executive Vice President and then Chief Operations Officer in 2002.
Mr. Gambaro was instrumental in developing the NYBOT’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans, which have become a model for corporate preparedness. After the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, he began developing NYBOT’s recovery plan. Due to the events on September 11, 2001, the exchange’s trading facility was completely destroyed.  NYBOT’s disaster recovery site allowed the exchange to continue its commodity operations with only minimal delay. At the time of the 9/11 attacks, the NYBOT was the only open outcry exchange worldwide with a back-up trading facility and business continuity plan.
Mr. Gambaro served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968 and is a decorated Vietnam veteran.
