Air Force Technical Sergeant Daniel Beesting, his wife Alicia, and their three children know the true meaning of resilience. After serving ten years during the fiercest fighting of the Iraq War and returning home with severe combat wounds, Daniel faced another devastating blow when Hurricane Ian destroyed the family’s Florida home in 2022.

In June, the Beestings believed they were attending an interview to determine their eligibility for a new home. Instead, they were surprised by Building Homes for Heroes and PulteGroup with the life changing announcement that the home was already theirs.

On September 26 in Venice, Florida, the family was welcomed home after three long years of uncertainty. Dozens gathered for a patriotic celebration filled with a parade, flags, and heartfelt applause. The day ended in an emotional moment as the Beestings set foot for the first time into their forever home.
